Meet our Medical Director: Kevin J. Ennis, MD, FACP
Dr. Ennis, a board-certified geriatrician, will serve as our medical director. He will conduct educational lectures for the nursing staff, residents and families. He most recently conducted a lecture on Shingles and Immunizations for seniors and is available to consult and make recommendations on matters pertaining to nursing/resident care issues and procedures. Dr. Ennis also maintains a practice at the Center for Healthy Aging, a multi-disciplinary treatment center focused on meeting the needs of seniors.

Housewarming Parties for New Residents
To help our new residents transition to their new home, housewarming parties prove to be a fun and festive way to help settle and keep in touch with friends and families. We invite new residents to have a housewarming party and leave the planning and cooking to us! There were two parties last month and the enjoyment of seeing old friends was evident to all.

Internet Access Now Available for Residents & Families
The Herrick House now has internet access for our residents. Visit the library where there is a large screen internet access computer set up and ready to use every day from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. Surf the internet, find favorite web sites, send/receive email, keep in touch with families and friends or go shopping on-line. The world of the internet is now readily available! Ask about individual help, it is available.

Geriatric psychiatric assistance is now available on-site for residents who may be coping with changes related to health and function.
A board-certified advanced practice psychiatric nurse specialist and a licensed social worker provide psychological assessments, counseling and medication management. These service are conveniently provided on-site in a private location on a bi-weekly basis. Residents and families work together to achieve a plan of care that will support the individual needs of the resident.
Scheduling and coordination of these services may be coordinated through The Herrick House or as directed by the family.
