Meet our Medical Director: Kevin J. Ennis, MD, FACP
Dr. Ennis, a board-certified geriatrician, will serve as our medical director. He will conduct educational lectures for the nursing staff, residents and families. He most recently conducted a lecture on Shingles and Immunizations for seniors and is available to consult and make recommendations on matters pertaining to nursing/resident care issues and procedures. Dr. Ennis also maintains a practice at the Center for Healthy Aging, a multi-disciplinary treatment center focused on meeting the needs of seniors.
Wireless Internet Access Now Available for Residents & Families
The Herrick House now has wireless internet access for our residents and visitors. Access from residents’ apartments or visit the library where there is a large screen computer set up and ready to use every day from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. Surf the internet, send/receive email, keep in touch with families and friends or go shopping on-line. Ask about individual help – it’s available.
Geriatric psychiatric assistance is now available on-site for residents who may be coping with changes related to health and function.
A board-certified advanced practice psychiatric nurse specialist and a licensed social worker provide psychological assessments, counseling and medication management. These service are conveniently provided on-site in a private location on a bi-weekly basis. Residents and families work together to achieve a plan of care that will support the individual needs of the resident.
Scheduling and coordination of these services may be coordinated through The Herrick House or as directed by the family.
