Northeast Senior Health is an affiliate of Northeast Health System. It represents a comprehensive set of programs, services, facilities and professionals and board-certified geriatric physicians that combine to provide a complete continuum of services for seniors. In recognizing that seniors have unique needs that will change over time and require specialized knowledge and understanding, residents enjoy easy access to emergency and specialized care when needed.
The Herrick House, as part of Northeast Senior Health, benefits from working closely with all the programs to assist residents obtain all the necessary support, assistance and medical care to meet their changing needs.
For example, the nursing and social working staff works closely with the diagnostic clinic, The Center for Healthy Aging, during the entire time that a person is a resident. The Clinic is a multi-disciplinary treatment center, focused on meeting the healthcare needs of seniors. The clinical staff includes board certified geriatricians, psychiatrists, internists, clinical nurse specialists and social workers. Treatment is provided in collaboration with primary care physicians. With geriatric trained physicians being so scarce, it is a rare and special affiliation that brings this valuable resource to the team of people helping develop a care plan for a senior.
